Shavuot

June 2nd, 2008

“Three times a year you are to celebrate a festival to me.” (Ex 23:14) The first is the “Feast of Unleavened Bread,” the Third is the “Feast of Ingathering.” This Sunday begins the middle celebration, which our English Bibles call, “The Feast of Weeks (Shavuot).”
One of the central features of the ‘Feast of […]

It has now been one year since we moved back into the old red church building on Great George Street. After planning and permission we spent all last week, from early in the mornings until late at night remodeling the front of the church building.

My Prayers These Days…

April 24th, 2008

These are some of the things I have been praying about these days.

Thankful. After 5 years living in Scotland and praying over the University of Glasgow I was finally invited to speak at the Christian Union. It was a great honour to be asked to speak and God seems to really have blessed […]

Seder

March 22nd, 2008

Almost 50 people, including children, converged in two shifts for a time of remembering Jesus’ fulfillment of the Jewish Passover at our home last evening. A powerful evening. Who Cares?

March 4th, 2008

2 weeks ago, 25-year-old Chris Gaston died suddenly in his sleep without warning instantly stunning his family, our church, and […]

Some Church News Bits:

The Wonderful Crisis (A Long Praise)

January 9th, 2008

Sunday morning about 2 hours before church was to start on the 6th of January, in the cold Scottish winter, our temporary heater stopped working. The building’s heating system had been vandalized over a year ago and the estimated fixing costs were between £15,000-30,000 (30,000-60,000US) from a heating expert we paid to look over […]

The Rest

December 29th, 2007

This week I have rested. I have just relaxed and spent time with family and friends. It is amazing how stopping brings better perspective and a renewed spirit.
This rest has been made possible by having such a fantastic and diverse team. Tomorrow Wade Thompson will be preaching and I will be doing much […]
